Frogs and a giant water tank of LOVE.

You are looking at one happy HAPPY boy right now. It's "frog catching season".

Not long ago, our backyard came alive with the sounds of singing frogs. They sing songs of love as they gather  together at, what has been recently dubbed:

"The Giant Water Tank Of LOVE"

And such frog gatherings attract little boys with critter catching nets and a massive supply of critter tanks.

The Rileyman comes by his love of frogs quite honestly. As a little girl I too had a passion for catching frogs and tadpoles in the Spring.

My brothers and our friend Dylan used to rescue TONS of frogs from the swimming pool skimmers in our apartment complex and load them up in the trunk of Dylan's  peddle powered General Lee.
I loved that car.

Be still my heart.

Little by little the bird builds its nest.

New Art for Haiti is ready! This sweet mini canvas measures only 2.5 x 2.5 inches and it sits on the cutest little easel.

The canvas and easel are hand painted with the
Haitian Proverb
"Piti piti wazo fe nich li"

It means, little by little the bird builds its nest.

I love this saying. It's just so true about everything in life.  Even the smallest of daily accomplishments can make the biggest of dreams come true.
If you are interested in this Art for Haiti please email me at colorofdawncreations@gmail.com
The cost is $20.00(shippped), all of which will be donated to Lifeline Christian Mission to benefit Haiti.

And speaking of nests, mamma robin has raised a family once again on the corner the house.

This is our most favorite time of year!!!

Aren't they just precious?!

I once was lost but....oh here I am!

Have you ever lost yourself? I mean like in a completely forgot who you are type way because your family is still struggling to figure out life without a loved one only to be followed by a two month long (and counting) struggle with your breast health and you have, like, fought the good fight to "keep it together" only to wake up, wide awake, at 2:30AM, and realize you've completely lost who you are?
Yeah me too.
Until I ran across this link and I remembered.

So today I dug out these sweet little canvases and brought them with me to play with on my lunch break. Aren't they just precious!

Only when I opened my art box I realized that I had removed all the acrylic paints and put them in another location. Um...Somewhere. I'm sure I will find them... one day. See that big empty section in the middle? That big empty section where my acrylics are supposed to be? As it turns out though (thank you google) watercolors can be used on canvas.

And cameraphones can be used at work.

And artists can misspell.

I SO misspelled this Haitian proverb meaning "Little by little the bird builds its nest".

Soon to be available in the in my Art for Haiti collection.
After I fix it that is.

I think I will end today's post with a quote that I pulled from Pitter Patter Art.
(Thank you Laura. Just paying it forward)

When your burden is heaviest, you can always lighten a little some other burden. At the times when you cannot see God, there is still open to you this sacred possibility, to show God; for it is the love and kindness of human hearts through which the divine reality comes home to men, whether they name it or not. Let this thought, then, stay with you: there may be times when you cannot find help, but there is no time when you cannot give help. -George S. Merriam
